The Stillwater Regional Airport (SWO) has developed a tarmac delay plan to educate the public on the airport's plans in the case of excessive tarmac delays. The Tarmac Delay Plan (PDF) details the plans for accommodating passengers and aircraft as part of an emergency contingency plan.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Modernization and Reform Act of 2012 requires all U.S. carriers and commercial service airports to develop and share a contingency plan for lengthy tarmac delays.
