Annual Leave

The amount of paid annual leave regular full-time employees receive each year increases with the length of their employment as shown in the following schedule:

Paid Holidays

The City observes the holidays listed in the following:

  • New Year's Day (January 1)
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day (third Monday in January)
  • Presidents Day (third Monday in February)
  • Memorial Day (last Monday in May)
  • Juneteenth National Independence Day (June 19)
  • Independence Day (July 4)
  • Labor Day (first Monday in September)
  • Thanksgiving (fourth Thursday in November)
  • Day after Thanksgiving
  • Christmas Day (December 25)

In addition to the recognized holidays, eligible employees will receive two floating holidays each fiscal year.

Sick Leave

Eligible employees will accrue sick leave benefits at the rate of 3.70 hours per pay period. Unused sick leave up to 1,000 hours, excluding those hours in the "catastrophic leave bank," will be paid to employees who resign or retire according to the following schedule (based on years of employment in a full-time position):
